With three of their top five receivers currently sidelined by injury, the Pittsburgh Steelers could probably use some help at wideout.
Per Steelers On SI's Noah Strackbein , former Steelers wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster will meet with Mike McCarthy's team on Friday.
Smith-Schuster, 29, worked out in front of the Minnesota Vikings on Monday. He dealt with knee issues throughout the summer.
Since departing from the Steelers in 2022 to ink a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, Smith-Schuster has also suited up for the New England Patriots. He won a Super Bowl during his first go-round with Andy Reid's team, then returned to catch passes from Patrick Mahomes after a one-season sabbatical with Bill Belichick's crew.
When he joined with the New York Giants this offseason, Smith-Schuster reconnected with former Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, but was cut loose a few months later.
The Steelers previously hadn't shown any interest in a reunion with Smith-Schuster, who began his NFL career as a second-round pick (No. 62 overall) in 2017.
He spent the first five go-rounds with the Steelers, posting 111 receptions for 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns in 2018. His breakout effort helped result in superstar pass-catcher Antonio Brown demanding his way out of town.
