Joe Mixon is returning to the NFL, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, who reported Monday that the Seattle Seahawks are signing the 30-year-old running back after hosting him for a workout earlier in the day.

Seattle, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter , is planning to add Mixon to its practice squad when he completes his medical exam.

Mixon, a two-time Pro Bowler, previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals (2017-23) and Houston Texans (2024-25). This past offseason, the Texans reportedly honored Mixon's request to be released .

The Seahawks placed rookie RB Jadarian Price on injured reserve with a chest injury over the weekend . In his absence, they got an impressive performance from Emanuel Wilson. During a 30-23 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Wilson carried the ball 21 times for 81 yards and one score.

Mixon could provide the defending Super Bowl champions more depth at the position, however.
