When the Kansas City Chiefs signed Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III this offseason, they knew the running back would be a big part of their offense.

In the Chiefs' Week 1 matchup against the Denver Broncos, he essentially was their entire offense.

Walker rushed for 173 yards on 23 carries and added 18 yards through the air on three receptions. He tallied two total touchdowns in the 31-10 win over the reigning divisional champs.

Fans and fantasy managers were blown away by the former Seattle Seahawk in his first game with his new team.

Walker, a second-round pick in 2022, has had a strong start to his career, eclipsing 1,000 rushing yards twice, including last year when he rushed for 1,027 yards and five touchdowns.

But after the Chiefs' season opener, he appears on his way to a career season, especially if offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy continues to use him at the rate he did in Week 1.

It's not too surprising to see Walker get so many touches against Denver, considering the Broncos' tremendous pass rush and outstanding secondary anchored by Pat Surtain II. Patrick Mahomes was also in his first game back from a torn ACL and is still finding his rhythm.

That said, the Chiefs clearly like Walker, and he'll continue to be a huge part of the offense.

Kansas City has been looking for an elite running back, and Walker could be the missing piece that gets it back to the Super Bowl. And for fantasy managers with Walker on their roster, they could be in for a big year.
