Jayden Reed, Bako-Bewele Carted Off Field After Scary Injuries During Packers vs. Jets

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was carted off the field early in Sunday's game against the New York Jets.

Reed suffered a scary injury on the second play of the game after being tackled by Jets linebacker Demario Davis. His Packers teammates surrounded him as he was placed on a stretcher:

Ryan Wood of USA Today reported that Reed was seen moving his right leg as he was being placed on the stretcher:

To make matters worse, Packers right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele suffered a right leg injury just one play later and had to be carted off the field with his leg in an air cast:

The Packers announced that both players were ruled out for the rest of the game with neck and knee injuries, respectively.

Reed caught three passes for 20 yards in Green Bay's Week 1 loss against the Minnesota Vikings. The 2023 second-round pick was limited to seven games in 2025 after undergoing surgeries to repair a broken clavicle and a Jones fracture in his left foot. Despite his abbreviated season, the Packers signed Reed to a three-year contract extension worth $50.25 million in April.

Bako-Bewele arrived to Green Bay as a fourth-round pick in the 2022 draft. He started all 17 games in 2023 and 2024 and was rewarded with a four-year, $88 million contract extension that included a $30.2 million signing bonus, which, at the time, was the largest bonus for an offensive lineman in league history.

It was noted that Bako-Bewele entered Week 2 with a questionable designation due to a knee injury before he was ruled active. He was also questionable for the season opener against Minnesota, but he played in that game with no issues.

The Packers and Jets are playing through rainy conditions at MetLife Stadium, so both teams will be hoping to avoid any further injuries in Sunday's game.
