Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is very familiar with his newest wide receiver.

Marvin Harrison Jr., whom the Texans acquired from the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, played alongside Stroud at Ohio State. Stroud hyped his new target following the trade.

"I think he brings a dynamic playmaker. Somebody who runs great routes, can catch really any ball. I loved him in college," Stroud told reporters. "Probably the hardest worker I've ever been around in my life. And who he is off the field, he's a great dude, quiet guy but defintley you feel his presence. I'm excited to get him in here and get him learning & get him around the other guys. It's perfect for him, I think fresh starts are good. I'm excited to get him with us."

Texans' Fantasy Outlook With MHJ, Stroud

The Cardinals traded Harrison and a seventh-round pick to the Texans in return for a 2027 second-round pick and a sixth-round pick. The move came just over two years after Arizona drafted Harrison fourth overall after his tremendous college career.

Harrison hasn't had the start to his career that he hoped for, and he's played a small role for the Cardinals to start the year. In four games, he had just five receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown.

But joining a new team could help Harrison kickstart his career after the slow start, and being alongside his former quarterback could be the perfect situation for him.

Stroud and Harrison were dominant during the 2022 season in Columbus. That year, Harrison had 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns, and Stroud threw for 3,688 yards, 41 touchdowns and six interceptions.

In their final game together, Harrison had 106 yards and two touchdowns in the College Football Playoff semifinal against George before suffering a concussion on a hit to the end in the end zone.

Ohio State led 35-24 late in the third quarter when Harrison was injured. The Buckeyes were outscored 18-3 after that and ultimately fell after missing a last-second field. After Ohio State lost that game, Stroud and Harrison have now unfinished business to attend to.

The Texans started the season 0-4 before finally getting their first win of the year against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Houston has its work cut out for it trying to get back into the playoff race, but perhaps the duo of Stroud and Harrison can right the ship.
