Vikings' Kyler Murray makes never-seen-before NFL history with undefeated record

Throughout NFL history, there have been plenty of incredible quarterbacks to play for multiple teams in their careers. While not all switched teams while in their prime, there have been a lot of noteworthy QBs to play for multiple franchises in their careers.

Kyler Murray, now with the Minnesota Vikings , might just be another name to mention as a prominent starting QB to switch teams in the middle of his career. But after the Vikings' Week 7 win over the Indianapolis Colts , his name belongs in NFL history books.

As OptaSTATS shared, Murray and the Vikings' Week 7 win kept the team undefeated at 6-0, and with no other undefeated teams remaining, Murray has now become the only QB ever to lead two different teams to the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL.

In 2021, Murray was quarterbacking the NFL's last unbeaten team with the Arizona Cardinals . Five years later, the 2026 Vikings are the last team without a loss in the NFL.

No other quarterback in NFL history, since the Super Bowl era began over 60 years ago, has ever led a team to be the last undefeated squad in the NFL with two separate franchises.

This was only possible in 2026 thanks to the San Francisco 49ers losing to the Atlanta Falcons in a big upset, dropping to 6-1 for the year.

Then, later in the night, the 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs lost their first game of the season, failing to produce much offense against the Seattle Seahawks .

While there might be things to worry about with this Vikings team, and that 6-0 record might not tell the full story, there's no denying that this is a good team, and that Murray has now made some never-before-seen NFL history as well.
