The Cleveland Browns ruled out rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion for the remainder of Sunday's road game against the New York Jets due to a head injury.
During the first quarter, Concepcion took a hard hit from Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and appeared to hit his head on the turf. Fitzpatrick was assessed a personal foul for unnecessary roughness.
According to ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi , Concepcion was helped to his feet after the hit and went directly to the locker room.
Following the 15-yard penalty against Fitzpatrick, the Browns managed a field goal to cut the deficit to 7-3.
Cleveland selected the 22-year-old Concepcion with the 24th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft after he starred collegiately at NC State and Texas A&M.
Starting three of the first four games of the season, Concepcion entered Sunday's contest with 17 receptions for 144 yards and no touchdowns on the year, while also rushing four times for nine yards.
Concepcion was tied for the team lead in catches through four games, and third in receiving yardage behind fellow rookie wideout Denzel Boston and tight end Harold Fannin Jr.
Prior to exiting Sunday's game, Concepcion had recorded one catch for five yards against the Jets.
With Concepcion leaving the game, it cemented Boston and Fannin as the top two passing-game options for quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Wide receivers Jerry Jeudy, Malachi Corley and Isaiah Bond could be in for expanded roles as well.
