New NFL Trade Rumors on Titans' Tony Pollard Amid Jonathan Taylor Buzz at 2026 Deadline
Amid the focus on marquee names such as Jonathan Taylor and Saquon Barkley as potential trade candidates, Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard could be most prominent player at the position to get moved before Nov. 10.
Amid the focus on marquee names such as Jonathan Taylor and Saquon Barkley as potential trade candidates, Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard could be most prominent player at the position to get moved before Nov. 10.
Per ESPN's Dan Graziano , Pollard is considered "more likely" to be traded than someone like Taylor.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler wrote in a separate report that Pollard is viewed as an "attractive fallback plan" if the Colts decide to hold on to Taylor.
Fowler did quote one AFC executive who was skeptical of the Titans moving Pollard because they don't think the team wants to "take weapons away" from Cam Ward right now.
One reason a Pollard deal would seem more likely than Taylor getting traded is contractual. Pollard is in the final season of his three-year, $21.8 million contract with Tennessee.
Taylor just signed a two-year, $44 million extension with the Indianapolis Colts in August. His 2027 salary of $16 million doesn't become fully guaranteed until February 19, so in theory a team could decide to move on from him without any long-term financial commitment.
However, given the Colts' reported asking price for Taylor is at least a second-round draft pick, an acquiring team would seem unlikely to give up that much for a rental back.
Pollard has been a bright spot in what has otherwise been a disappointing Titans offense. The 29-year-old ranks 10th in the NFL with 478 rushing yards and is tied for 11th with four rushing touchdowns.
He is also a reliable receiver out of the backfield with at least 30 catches in each of the past five seasons.
Given Pollard's age and contract status, it wouldn't seem to make much sense for the Titans to prioritize keeping him if they can get a decent mid-round draft pick back.
