The New England Patriots have some uncertainty at running back with Rhamondre Stevenson going into the Week 5 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Stevenson came down with his ankle injury during the Week 4 win over the Buffalo Bills.

In practice this week, Stevenson was limited in all three days before he was given the questionable tag by New England.

Thankfully, a report on Sunday morning has given us clarity on what Stevenson is going to do on Sunday afternoon. Here's the latest.

Yes, Stevenson is expected to play today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport .

"Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson (knee) and DT Christian Barmore (shoulder) are both expected to play for New England, source says," Rapoport reported.

This matches the optimism Stevenson had during the week, when he told reporters that he was "ready to go" for the contest against the Raiders, ESPN's Mike Reiss reported.

As is always the case, you'll want to double check the inactives ahead of kickoff. With the game set to begin at 1 p.m. ET, the inactives will drop at 11:30 a.m. ET.

There has only been a six-carry difference between Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson this season, which is scary because you never know when the Pats might lean on one or the other more in any given game.

That said, according to The Athletic's Chad Graff , the Patriots continue to trust Stevenson more than Henderson, which makes the former a more reliable fantasy play.

"Here's the hard truth of the Patriots' running back situation: Even after using the No. 38 pick on TreVeyon Henderson in 2025, he's still not reliable enough to be the team's top option," Graff reported.

Graff goes on to note that Stevenson is more reliable because of his superior success rate, and we know the veteran is a better pass-blocker, also, which is crucial on third downs.

"Given that, it won't be a surprise if the Patriots give Stevenson more carries in the coming weeks while using Henderson as more of a gadget player — as they did on the reverse against the Bills that gained 11 yards," Graff added.

Through four games, Stevenson ranks as RB25 overall, per Fantasy Pros , which makes him a flex option.

He also draws a somewhat favorable matchup against a Las Vegas defense giving up the 13th-most fantasy points per game to running backs in 2026.

Stevenson just makes the cut as a starting option in Week 5.
