It's hard to believe that the NFL regular season will be kicking off in less than a week, and at this point next week, the Tennessee Titans will be wrapping up game week preparations to take on the New York Jets .

There is no doubt that the season opener will be memorable for the Titans and their fans. Not only will Robert Saleh be making his Titans' debut against his former team to kick off the final season in Nissan Stadium, but Tennessee will also be inducting one of their legends, Chris Johnson, into the Titans' Ring of Honor. There will also be a minor milestone that has flown under the radar.

The NFL released the official game capsule for the Week 1 matchup against the Jets, and one of the notes annotated was that star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons was set to take part in his 100th game with the organization.

In a league where the average career for defensive tackles spans roughly five years, Simmons has not only surpassed that; he is playing the best football of his career heading into 2026 and is the unquestioned leader of the Titans' defense. And Simmons is showing no signs of slowing down.

Earlier this offseason, Simmons signed a then-record contract extension for defensive tackles, locking him up long-term in Nashville and setting him up to help the Titans dig out of the AFC South basement.
