As the Indianapolis Colts look to add more assets ahead of the NFL trade deadline, Jonathan Taylor is reportedly generating significant interest from opposing clubs.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport , the Colts currently have an offer on the table of a second-round draft pick plus additional compensation for Taylor with "multiple" clubs interested.

It's unclear if the Colts will ultimately make the move because the report also notes they view Taylor as a "potential part" of their rebuilding efforts.

Teams that have been connected to Taylor thus far include the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos.

The Athletic's Jonathan Jones reported on Oct. 27 that the Colts wanted a second-round pick plus additional compensation for Taylor, so there is at least one team willing to meet that asking price.

Indianapolis' decision to not yet accept the offer suggests Taylor could end up staying through the trade deadline.

Even though the Colts have already moved key players like Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner, they are both over the age of 30 and in the final year of their current contracts.

Taylor is 27 and signed through the 2028 season, making it easier for the Colts to rationalize he could be part of their next good team.

Another issue is the Colts don't really have the ability to add a high-level playmaker early in the draft next spring because their first-round pick is owed to the New York Jets from the Sauce Gardner trade.

The Colts do have 10 picks in the 2027 draft, including two each in rounds three, four and five. There is an opportunity for them to dramatically improve their depth if they hit on those selections.

Taylor is good enough to potentially swing a playoff race if he gets traded, but the Colts' desire to hold onto him is understandable for a franchise that needs anything to be excited about right now.
