Eagles' Howie Roseman Responds to Jalen Hurts Facing Potential 'Make or Break' Season in 2026

Some would argue that Jalen Hurts' sixth NFL season is a make-or-break year for the quarterback, but Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman says that's not the case at all.

"No, I do not agree with that," Roseman said on 94 WIP (h/t NBC Sports' Ashlyn Sullivan ) when asked whether it was a make-or-break year for Hurts. "All the guy does is win football games."

Hurts isn't often put into the same conversation with some of his peers like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, but he's consistently led Philadelphia to wins since being drafted in 2020.

The Eagles have made the playoffs in all but one season since Hurts took over under center, and they've reached the Super Bowl twice, winning it all in 2024.

Still, Hurts' playstyle doesn't get the same kind of recognition as other quarterbacks. Last year, he threw for 3,224 yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for 421 yards and eight scores.

He doesn't have over-the-top numbers that get him into the MVP conversation, but Roseman credited Hurts for knowing how to win football games, and Hurts will look to do more of that in 2026.
