Another layer added to New York Jets offseason kicker saga

Another layer has been added to the seemingly never-ending saga the New York Jets have had in recent months and years regarding their kicking situation.

Fresh off adding a new kicker via the NFL's wavier wire, the Jets have brought in another... just for a workout to this point.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, it's Josh Karty who has had a workout in New York:

In the last week alone, the Jets' kicking situation has been all over the place. From naming Jason Sanders the starter, to his abysmal effort in the preseason finale, to Blake Grupe being claimed off of waivers ... we could have another curve ball.

Currently Sanders is back on the practice squad and Grupe is on the roster and the two are in an ongoing position battle. Karty being added would likely mean he takes Sanders' spot on the practice squad.

Karty, 24, was a sixth-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 2024. Across two seasons he made 79.6% of his field goal attempts and only 88.7% of his extra points.
