Porter has yet to appear in a game this season, dealing with a back issue while also searching for a new contract.
According to Clarence Hill Jr. of DLLS Sports, there wasn't a new deal in place between Porter and the Cowboys as the trade was completed. He could be able to play against the Houston Texans on Sunday, though.
Porter previously appeared in 14 games for the Steelers during the 2025 season, finishing with 52 tackles, 14 passes defended and one interception. He allowed a mere 57.2 passer rating when targeted (via Pro Football Reference ).

The Cowboys will face the Texans on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
