Jalen Hurts is not ready to make his return to the field, but he did make an appearance at the team's practice facility Wednesday.

Hurts, who has been dealing with blood clots in his lungs, sat in on the team meeting and additional smaller meetings at the team's facility Wednesday, according to ESPN's Tim McManus . Hurts did not address the team, but it marked the first time that some players had seen him since he landed on injured reserve .

"I've talked to him and am in constant communication with him and know he's resting and recovering," Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said, via ESPN. "I miss him like crazy. But nothing new on that front. I know he's resting and recovering, and we're all still praying for him and hoping for a speedy recovery."

Hurts was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and a bilateral pulmonary emboli last month, and is now expected to miss the rest of the season recovering. One blood clot is in his leg, and the other issue involves multiple blood clots in his lungs.

Hurts was placed on blood thinners and has been recovering ever since. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Hurts last played in the team's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. He was diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in London before that game and flew home with the team normally. After practicing with the team without restriction the following Wednesday, an ultrasound revealed that the blood clot had moved. Hurts hasn't played since.

Tanner McKee took over for Hurts in his absence, but the team has lost three straight under his watch. The Eagles announced Wednesday they will start Joe Milton at quarterback this week for Sunday's matchup with the New York Giants. It will mark the first start of Milton's NFL career.

The Eagles sit at 2-6. They've lost six in a row, dating back to before Hurts' blood clot issues.
