Bryan Thomas Jr. and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. ejected for fighting during kickoff in London
Bryan Thomas Jr. and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. got ejected on a play that didn't even count.
Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. and Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. didn't last long in Week 5. Both players were ejected after the opening kickoff after getting into a physical altercation at midfield on Sunday.
The kickoff was initially returned for a touchdown, but offsetting penalties resulted in the kick having to be replayed.
After the return, however, a fight broke out between Thomas and Trotter, though the broadcast missed the actual altercation.
After a commercial break, the broadcast showed a portion of the play. After the Jaguars' return man broke free, Thomas and Trotter were spotted blocking each other down the field. After engaging with each other for some time, Trotter eventually threw Thomas to the ground. The broadcast missed the rest of the fight.
The play, which initially looked like a touchdown, was called back due to offsetting penalties. The Eagles lined up illegally and the Jaguars were called for holding. Because of that, the opening kickoff needed to be replayed.
In addition to that, both Thomas and Trotter were called for their own offsetting penalties, which caused both players to be ejected.
Notably, it was Jacksonville linebacker Bryan Thomas Jr. who was ejected from the contest. Receiver Brian Thomas Jr. was not involved in the play.
