Ravens' Rashod Bateman Talks Jesse Minter's Attention to Details, Did WR Shade John Harbaugh?

At least one Baltimore Ravens player apparently feels there has been more organizational attention to detail since Jesse Minter took over for former head coach John Harbaugh.

Wide receiver Rashod Bateman said the difference with Minter's staff is that "everybody harps on the details" (h/t The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec).

"That's not what we've had here," Bateman added, per Zrebiec.

Predicting When Injured Stars Will Debut

The Ravens fired Harbaugh after 18 seasons in January, shortly before promoting Minter from defensive coordinator to head coach.

Harbaugh has since taken over as head coach of the New York Giants, while former Ravens offensive coordinator has left to coach the Cleveland Browns.

This isn't the first time Bateman has hinted at being happy with some changes in the coaching staff after five seasons spent playing under Harbaugh.

Bateman said earlier this month he felt a similar attention to detail while adjusting to schemes drawn up by new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle.

"He's pushing us to be the very best every day," Bateman said earlier this month about Doyle. "I think that's the difference in our offense right now is chasing the small details."

Bateman continued: "I feel like in the past, I've been kind of a one-dimensional receiver. I feel like [Doyle's] seen my talent. He sees everybody's talent. A lot of guys are moving around, and he's playing all strengths."

Bateman is hoping these leadership changes will lead to a bounce-back season for him after posting a career-low 224 receiving yards in 13 games last season.

A first-round pick out of Minnesota in 2021, Bateman never developed into a clear-cut WR1 with Harbaugh as head coach and Monken or Greg Roman as OC.

Bateman will now hope to find a way to contribute more behind Zay Flowers as he and Doyle work on adding some versatility to his game ahead of his age-27 season.
