Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh gave embattled offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel a vote of confidence following Sunday's 30-23 loss against the Seattle Seahawks, which dropped L.A. to 0-4 on the season.
"Like our players, and we have skilled coaches," he told reporters when asked if McDaniel's job was in jeopardy. "We're gonna keep growing. ... No, no, no, [McDaniel's] job is not in jeopardy. He's a skilled coach and we're gonna keep growing."
New NFL contenders starting to emerge after Week 4
Just how much more leeway McDaniel will be granted remains to be seen, however, especially with a brutal upcoming schedule that includes matchups against the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens. Few teams have been bigger surprises—and bigger letdowns—than these Chargers.
If the Chargers don't turn things around, and soon, this season will be lost.
