New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson will make his NFL debut against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz .

Tyson was selected with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, but a hamstring injury landed him on injured reserve during training camp.

The Saints need to activate the rookie from injured reserve by Saturday afternoon for him to be eligible to play on Sunday. New Orleans has a 2-5 record, but remains in contention in a relatively weak NFC South.

The Saints are in last place in their division but sit only one game behind the Carolina Panthers, who currently lead the NFC South with a 3-4 record. With a defensive unit that has struggled throughout the season, New Orleans will need to lean on its offense to pull out a few wins.

Saints wide receivers Chris Olave and Devaughn Vele has served as the team's top wideouts, but New Orleans hasn't been able to find consistent production from a third wide receiver.

Olave has reeled in 49 receptions for 636 receiving yards with two touchdowns, while Vele has 33 catches for 348 receiving yards with three touchdowns. No other Saints wide receiver has reached 10 receptions or 100 receiving yards through seven games.

Tyson has a significant injury history dating back to his time at Colorado and Arizona State. He only played every regular-season game in one of his four collegiate seasons. If the rookie can stay healthy moving forward, he could help the Saints establish a more versatile passing attack and draw defensive coverage away from Olave.

New Orleans has struggled to run the ball, but could also see its rushing attack bolstered with left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. and running back Travis Etienne Jr. returning from stints on the injured reserve list. Banks is listed as questionable for Sunday, but Etienne has not yet returned to practice.
