While the San Francisco 49ers are expecting to get back some of their injured wide receivers for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel are likely not going to be available.
Appearing on KNBR's Murph & Markus Show (h/t Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area), 49ers general manager John Lynch said the expectation is Evans and Samuel will remain out for Week 9.
Lynch added Demarcus Robinson and KhaDarel Hodge are expected to play against the Raiders.
Evans missed San Francisco's most recent game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7 due to Achilles tendinitis. He originally suffered the injury in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks.
After trying to play through it the following week against the Washington Commanders, Evans left the field late in the second quarter and didn't return.
Samuel injured his hamstring in the Seahawks game and hasn't played since. Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters last week that Samuel and Evans were among a group of players who had a chance to return coming out of the bye.
Despite being without Evans and Samuel for at least one more game, there is good injury news for the 49ers.
Robinson, who has been out since suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 2, will add much-needed help at wide receiver. He had two catches for 50 yards and a touchdown in the season-opening win against the Los Angeles Rams.
Christian Kirk, Jordan Watkins, Brandin Cooks and Jacob Cowing were the only active wide receivers for the Niners against the Falcons two weeks ago.
In addition to getting Robinson back on offense, the 49ers will get a boost on defense with Nick Bosa planning to play for the first time since Week 2 due to knee and calf issues.
Sunday will also mark the 49ers' first game since acquiring DeForest Buckner, who previously played with San Francisco from 2016 to '19, from the Indianapolis Colts to boost their depth on the interior defensive line.
The 49ers (6-1) are currently the No. 1 seed in the NFC. They will host the Raiders at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
