The Indianapolis Colts are not yet ready to enter sell mode prior to the Nov. 10 trade deadline, though that could change depending on how they play over the next three games leading up to the Nov. 10 trade deadline.

Per The Athletic's Jonathan Jones , the Colts want "to see what the landscape is like in a few weeks" before making any decision about engaging teams in trade talks for Jonathan Taylor.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero added DeForest Buckner and Quenton Nelson have generated "strong trade interest" and no one on the Colts roster, including Taylor, is "expected to be off limits" if they decide to be a seller prior to the trade deadline.

Jones cited the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants as two potential suitors for Taylor if he becomes available.

Buckner and Nelson would seem more likely to be traded than Taylor because they are both in the final year of their current contracts.

Taylor just signed a two-year, $44 million extension in August that keeps him under contract through the 2028 season.

Buckner made it clear he's not happy where things are at with the Colts right now after their 26-20 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 6.

One popular landing spot for Buckner if he gets traded is a reunion with the San Francisco 49ers, who traded him to Indianapolis after the 2019 season. Niners fullback Kyle Juszczyk is in favor of bringing him back based on a social media post.

A team like the Green Bay Packers, who signed Laken Tomlinson, Mekhi Becton and Kevin Zeitler in the span of three days after Week 3 because their protection was so bad, could be a landing spot for Nelson if they want to add more help.

Taylor would almost certainly bring back the biggest return of this trio, but it would leave an already-thin group of skill-position players in Indianapolis bereft of talent.

Aaron Jones has been solid as the starting running back for Minnesota, but Taylor would represent a significant upgrade for a 5-0 team with Super Bowl aspirations.

The Giants running backs are a mess right now. Cam Skattebo leads the team with 294 rushing yards, but he didn't get a carry in just six offensive snaps in Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints.

Najee Harris, who was second on the Giants with 31 carries, got released on Tuesday.

Times are tough right now for a Colts team that will send its 2027 first-round pick to the New York Jets in the final piece to pay off the Sauce Gardner trade from November 2025.

The Colts have already made one significant move by firing longtime general manager Chris Ballard on Monday following a 26-20 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 6.

Ed Dodds, who has worked in Indianapolis' front office since 2017, was named interim general manager.

The Colts are in a difficult spot right now because of deals Ballard made over the past 12 months. In addition to the Gardner trade, he gave Daniel Jones an $88 million contract and Alec Pierce a four-year, $116 million deal in free agency.

Jones has thrown six interceptions to four touchdowns this season. Pierce has played in just two games due to heel issues stemming from offseason ankle surgery.
