Nick Sirianni Takes Blame for Eagles Loss to Jaguars, Explains Kickoff Decision Before GW FG

The Philadelphia Eagles saw their comeback win against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday slip away in a matter of seconds, and head coach Nick Sirianni took the blame.
"I didn't make the right decision, and I lost us that game," he told reporters. "And that's what I said to our guys. What hurts there is that the guys fought so hard and I don't make the decision that I should make at the end of the game. … I put that fully on me."
It seemed as if Philadelphia was going to win when Jalen Hurts moved the offense into field-goal range on its final offensive possession. Jake Elliott drilled the go-ahead 48-yarder with just eight seconds remaining, which figured to be enough to escape London with a win.
And then the Eagles decided to kick the ball off in bounds.
Ameer Abdullah made them pay with a 53-yard return, which set up Cam Little's 57-yard field goal as time expired.
For his part, Elliott confirmed after the game he was told to kick the ball in bounds:
Jacksonville didn't have a timeout remaining, so booting the ball into the end zone or even out of bounds would have left the offense with perhaps one more play to come away with a miracle touchdown.
Instead, Abdullah had time to return the kick into Philadelphia territory and set the Jaguars up for a dramatic victory.
It was a stunning defeat for the Eagles, who have now lost three in a row. Sirianni will face plenty of questions after the way the end of the game unfolded, although he took full responsibility in the aftermath of the latest defeat.
