The Atlanta Dream defeated the Golden State Valkyries (80-69) in Game 6 of the WNBA Finals on Thursday afternoon, forcing a Game 7 that is set for Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET in Golden State.

This will be the first-ever Game 7 in WNBA Finals history, as the league just adopted a best-of-seven championship series in 2025.

Several former UConn Huskies women's basketball alums will be representing Golden State in its quest to win the first title in franchise history:

Kaitlyn Chen, Tiffany Hayes, Kiah Stokes and Gabby Williams all play for Golden State. This is just the second year that the franchise has existed.

Chen played three years of college basketball at Princeton before transferring to UConn for her senior year in 2024-25. With the Huskies, she played and started 40 games, averaging 6.9 ppg and 3.4 assists. She helped the Huskies win the national title alongside Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd and was drafted No. 30 overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

She was the Ivy League Player of the Year in 2022-23 at Princeton. She played just five minutes in the Game 6 loss. She averaged 7.2 ppg in the regular season.

Williams, the most decorated former Huskies star on the Valkyries, is also an incredibly accomplished WNBA player. She had 26 points, three rebounds and three steals on Thursday.

A four-year standout for the Huskies, Williams crossed over with legendary forward Breanna Stewart for two of UConn's four straight national titles (2015 and 2016). She started 85 games in Storrs, getting named Defensive Player of the Year in 2017. She was also a two-time Associated Press All-American and a two-time All-AAC selection. She averaged 10.6 ppg for her career and was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft (Chicago Sky).

She's also represented France on the international stage, leading the French to the Olympic silver medal in 2024 and a second-place finish at this year's FIBA World Cup.

Hayes scored 15 points in 28 minutes on Thursday. She won two national titles at UConn in 2008-09 and 2009-10. She played in 154 games with the Huskies, averaging 11.7 ppg for her career. An All-American in her senior year, she was also a three-time All-Big East selection who was drafted No. 14 overall in the 2012 WNBA Draft. Ironically, she was taken by the Dream and spent 10 years there before also playing with Las Vegas, Connecticut and Golden State.

Another starter for Golden State, she had zero points in 20 minutes on Thursday. She averaged 3.6 ppg and 5.8 rebounds a game this season.

A three-time national champion at UConn, she also had crossover with Stewart and Williams. She averaged 4.5 ppg for her career and was the 2014-15 AAC Defensive Player of the Year. She was taken No. 11 overall in 2015 by the New York Liberty.
