Cowboys Top Commanders Amid Daniels Injury, Box Score Stats, Highlights for Dak, Lamb, Pickens, More

The Dallas Cowboys started the season with a demoralizing loss to the New York Giants, but they got back on track with a divisional win on Sunday.

The Cowboys, who were 4.5-point favorites over Washington (via FanDuel Sportsbook ), downed the Commanders 37-20 in their home opener.

The Cowboys came out hot, scoring on their opening drive after a touchdown pass from Dak Prescott to CeeDee Lamb. A field goal made it a 10-0 lead heading into the second quarter.

The Commanders got on the board in the second quarter, but another touchdown from Prescott made it a 17-3 lead. The Commanders answered on the following drive when Jayden Daniels found Stefon Diggs in the end zone.

Disaster struck for the Commanders at the end of the half when Daniels landed awkwardly on his left arm and exited with a gruesome injury. He was replaced by Marcus Mariota.

Dallas and Washington traded field goals to start the second half before Prescott found Ferguson in the end zone again to go up 27-13.

The Cowboys later extended it to a 17-point lead early in the fourth, but the Commanders stayed in it when Mariota threw a touchdown pass to Diggs.

Dallas put things away late in the fourth when Prescott notched his fourth touchdown pass of the game to make it a 37-20 lead.

Dallas looked more like the team it was expected to be coming into the season against the Commanders. The Cowboys' defense still has some work to do, but at least its offense was clicking in Week 2.

Washington is now 0-2, and it appears Daniels is set to miss some time, only making things more difficult for a team trying to get back to the playoffs.
