White House airs taxpayer-funded ad talking about ‘the final battle’

A taxpayer-funded advertisement from the White House aired Sunday during the commercial breaks of two NFL games, CNN reported.

Included in the ad, according to the outlet, was imagery of President Trump making his way through a hall with a voiceover of the president saying, “this is the final battle.”

“We will cast out the communists, Marxists, and fascists. We will throw off the sick political class that hates our country. We will rout the fake news media, and we will liberate America from these villains once and for all,” Trump said during the ad’s voiceover, per CNN.

The ad popped up during the game between the Seattle Seahawks, the reigning league champions, and the Washington Commanders, CNN reported. It also appeared in the Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers game.

The Hill has reached out to the White House for further comment on the ad.

Both Democrats and Republicans recently criticized another Trump administration ad paid for by the federal government. It took aim at communism, socialism and Marxism, messaging central to the GOP’s midterms strategy, only a few weeks out from the elections.

That ad included the president’s voice saying, “Together we will defeat communism, socialism and Marxism in America,” and “America will never be a communist country.” A song, “Love Me” by JMSN, played in the background.
