Colts receiver Keenan Allen arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated

Indianapolis Colts receiver Keenan Allen was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly driving while intoxicated, according to local police reports.

Allen, 34, was arrested in downtown Indianapolis at approximately 1 a.m. on preliminary charges of DWI and DWI endangering a person, as reported by FOX59 . Both are misdemeanor charges.

Allen was arrested with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or more, according to the Indianapolis Metro Police Department. As of Sunday morning, Allen is being held at the Marion County Jail, the Indianapolis Star reports .

Officers approached Allen's car when they noticed it parked in a no-parking zone, according to the IMPD report (via FOX59). While speaking with Allen, they noticed signs of intoxication and he was subsequently arrested.

"We are aware of the incident involving Keenan Allen last night," the Colts said in a statement, via ESPN. "We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time."

Allen signed a one-year contract with the Colts on Aug. 19 that could be worth up to $8.32 million. He made his preseason debut in Saturday's 25-16 loss to the Detroit Lions, catching one pass for 24 yards from quarterback Anthony Richardson on the team's first series. That was his only target for the game.

In 13 NFL seasons, Allen has 1.055 receptions for 12,051 yards and 70 touchdowns. A six-time Pro Bowl selection, he has surpassed 1,000 or more receiving yards six times during his career and tallied at least 100 receptions five times.

Allen's best season was 2017, when he caught 102 passes for 1,393 yards and 6 TDs with the then-San Diego Chargers. A 2013 third-round pick (No. 76 overall) by the Chargers, he played 13 seasons with the team and one with the Chicago Bears after a 2024 trade.
