One day after making the team, Vikings release Max Brosmer and Dillon Bell

Max Brosmer and Dillon Bell made the Vikings' 53-man roster on Sunday, only to be released on Monday.

That's the word from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and The Athletic's Alec Lewis, whose reports came shortly after the Vikings reportedly signed two of the top-rated preseason interior offensive linemen off waivers.

Brosmer and Bell now head to waivers. If they're not claimed, Minnesota could sign them to the practice squad.

Brosmer started two games and played in seven more as an undrafted rookie last season. He made the team after impressing head coach Kevin O'Connell with his quick decision-making and understanding of a complicated offensive scheme.

When he played, it didn't go well. That said, his first career start was in Seattle, where the eventual Super Bowl champs smoked the Vikings 34-0. Brosmer completed 66 percent of his passes while throwing four interceptions and zero touchdowns.

This preseason, Brosmer played sparingly against the Giants and then got a lot of playing time against the Ravens and Broncos. He completed 33 of 54 attempts for no touchdowns and one interception.

Brosmer's release may have been inevitable, even after he made the team on Sunday. Minnesota had only eight offensive linemen on its initial 53-man roster, so keeping four quarterbacks — Kyler Murray, Carson Wentz, J.J. McCarthy, and Brosmer — was unlikely.

The same goes for Bell, an undrafted receiver from Georgia. He was the sixth wide receiver on the initial 53-man roster, and keeping six would've been a surprise by the time the regular season started.
