Despite a bad 24-16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night, the Dallas Cowboys may have good news about CeeDee Lamb's injury coming out of the game.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Lamb suffered a quad bruise that is "not expected to be a long-term" issue.

Lamb originally injured his leg during the Cowboys' win over the Houston Texans on Sunday. He was officially listed on the injury report leading up to Thursday's game with a thigh injury, though he was a full practice participant throughout the week.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters after losing to the Bucs that Lamb took a hit to the same thigh.

Lamb was at one point seen walking to the locker room in the fourth quarter.

According to ESPN's Todd Archer , Lamb's quad tightened up after he was hit in the area by a Buccaneers defender.

Lamb played a season-low 34 offensive snaps against Tampa Bay. It was his first time playing fewer than 70 percent of the Cowboys' total offensive snaps in a game since Week 18 last season.

The Bucs held Lamb to just nine yards on two receptions. He put up more than 100 yards in the previous three games, including 189 yards on 17 receptions against the Texans.

Lamb does benefit from playing early this week, giving him extra time off going into Week 6. The Cowboys will play the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football on Oct. 18.
