In the aftermath of the Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner trades, Jonathan Taylor isn't trying to force his way off the Indianapolis Colts.

Colts head coach Shane Steichen told reporters on Wednesday that Taylor has not requested a trade at this point.

When asked if Nelson or Buckner made a trade request, Steichen opted to keep it in house.

"I'll keep all of that private," he said.

Coming off three straight losses and the decision to fir e general manager Chris Ballard after a Week 6 defeat against the Tennessee Titans, the Colts officially entered sell mode on Tuesday.

Indianapolis started the day by sending Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks for two draft picks, including a 2027 third-round selection. Buckner followed a few hours later when he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers for a fourth-round pick in 2027.

Taylor is the biggest name the Colts could potentially move, though it's unclear how much activity there has been around him to this point.

The Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, and Denver Broncos have been cited as teams that could have interest, but there's no indication any of them have put together a formal offer.

Per ESPN's Jordan Raanan , some people in the NFL believe the Colts will seek a second-round pick "and possibly more" if they trade Taylor.

Indianapolis is in a difficult spot right now with a 2-5 record and not having a first-round pick in the 2027 draft because it was traded to the New York Jets last year in the Sauce Gardner deal.

Based on the current standings , the Colts will be sending the No. 7 overall pick to the Jets. Their trades of Nelson and Buckner have them with a total of nine projected selections in the draft.

A key difference for Taylor compared to Nelson and Buckner is contract status. Nelson and Buckner are in the final season of their current deals and over the age of 30.

Taylor has two more years remaining on his contract beyond this season after signing a two-year, $44 million extension in August. He is one of the few bright spots for a struggling Colts team right now.

The three-time Pro Bowler ranks fifth in the NFL in rushing yards (587) and is tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns (eight).

Despite Taylor's individual success since entering the league, he hasn't made the playoffs with the Colts since his rookie year in 2020. They haven't finished over .500 since 2023 (9-8).

The NFL trade deadline isn at 4 p.m. ET on Nov. 10 if the Colts want to make additional moves as they look toward the future amid a season that is quickly spiraling out of control.
