2026 Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia: Where to watch the Formula 1 race, schedule, how to stream, and more

Just to avoid any confusion, this weekend's Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix is actually not taking place in Bahrain, despite the name. The race, originally on the calendar for April 12, was relocated and rescheduled earlier this year to the Sepang International Circuit near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, due to the conflict in the Middle East (but it retains the Bahrain name for contractual reasons). Practice and qualifying races will be on Friday and Saturday, with the Grand Prix taking place bright and early (or late) for U.S. viewers on Sunday at 3 a.m. ET.

If you're tuning in from home, you should know that this year, F1 has moved to streaming exclusively on Apple TV in the U.S. So if you want to catch this weekend's race in Monza live, you'll need access to Apple TV (or F1 TV Premium , now free with an Apple TV subscription). In addition to watching on Apple TV, you can also tune into F1 practice sessions and qualifying races via the Yahoo Sports Racing Hub .

The 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix will begin at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT on Sunday, Oct. 4.

F1 races used to air on ESPN and ESPN2 in the U.S., but Apple TV has signed an exclusive five-year deal to be the U.S. broadcaster of Formula 1 starting this season. That means the Bahrain Grand Prix and every other race of the 2026 F1 season will stream live on Apple TV.

For those without traditional cable, that makes watching F1 much easier. If you aren't already an Apple TV subscriber and don't want to shell out for yet another streaming service, we have a guide on how to get Apple TV for free in 2026 .

In addition to watching on Apple TV, you can also tune into the practice sessions and qualifying races via the Yahoo Sports Racing Hub .
