The stunning news of Brad Keselowski and RFK Racing parting ways at the conclusion of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season has the sport asking many questions. One of those questions is perhaps the most talked about since the news broke.

In a statement regarding the matter, Keselowski made it clear that he has no plans of retiring from NASCAR competition yet. However, with just about every Cup team having a driver locked in for next year, there are only so many options the 42-year-old has.

One NASCAR insider believes "Bad Brad" could be making a move down to the Craftsman Truck Series.

NASCAR Insider Believes Brad Keselowski Could be Going to The Truck Series

Jordan Bianchi, motorsports reporter for The Athletic, expressed doubt in Keselowski landing a full-time Cup Series ride in 2027. However, what Bianchi has heard from sources is that the 36-time Cup Series winner is in talks about running in a lower level NASCAR series next year.

"I don't anticipate a move where Brad Keselowski is going to end up in the Cup Series next year. What I do know, though, is that there are conversations underway where Brad could have a full-time ride in a different NASCAR series," Bianchi said .

What is that lower series? The Craftsman Truck Series.

Bianchi said Keselowski, a 1-time winner in the Craftsman Truck Series and former series team owner, has had conversations about potentially making a deal to drive in the series full-time next year.

However, given that Keselowski is already an established Cup driver with 36 wins and a championship, Bianchi said that might not be an avenue the 42-year-old wants to explore.

"I've heard his name linked to a Truck Series opportunity, potentially. Now, whether Brad wants to do that or not, we'll see. Maybe Brad doesn't want to go run the Truck Series," Bianchi said.

While it would ultimately be a downgrade, Bianchi believes if Keselowski can go down to the Truck Series and have great success, it could create opportunities to return to the Cup level in 2028.

"Dipping down into the Truck Series for a year, maybe that will be a great placeholder for him," Bianchi said.

Brad Keselowski, RFK Racing Parting Ways After 2026

The bombshell of the split between Keselowski and RFK came to light on Tuesday.

Keselowski drove for Team Penske from 2010-2021, winning 34 races and the 2012 Cup championship. The Michigan native left Penske after 2021 to join forces with team owner Jack Roush, rebranding Roush Fenway Racing to RFK Racing.

Keselowski's presence revitalized the team. After Roush Fenway Racing went winless from 2018-2021, RFK Racing only had one winless season (2025) and had at least one car make the Chase in three of the five seasons.

Keselowski won one race as co-owner of RFK Racing, which came at Darlington in May 2024.
