Edwards gushed about Ball after the game, as reported by The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski.
"He was great tonight. Y'all know. He plays like his hair is on fire. He gets everybody involved. He talked more than I expected throughout the game. That's another big one for me, especially because I love people who talk. Let us know what you see," said the four-time All-Star.
Many are excited for the electric one-two punch of Edwards and Ball , who entered the NBA at the same time in 2020. Ball beat Edwards by a slim margin as Rookie of the Year.
They have publicly declared their mutual admiration for each other ahead of the new campaign, which should only improve their on-court connection. They have similar personalities as well, and that should make them a fun duo to watch.
Coach Chris Finch has repeatedly praised the 25-year-old Ball, who is coming off a strong season with the Charlotte Hornets.
"He brings a joy to the game. He's always fun to be around. He's got a fast chemistry with everybody, and I think we're getting him at the right time," said Finch, as quoted by Sports Illustrated's Andrew Carlson.
The Timberwolves will face the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
