The Milwaukee Brewers currently hold a 2-0 lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. Milwaukee is in the driver's seat , but there is still work to do as the best-of-seven NLCS shifts back to Dodger Stadium in LA. One pitcher who could give the Brewers a boost is Brandon Woodruff . It remains to be seen when he could return from his shoulder injury, but reports have suggested the Fall Classic remains in play for Woodruff — if Milwaukee reaches it, of course.
Woodruff threw a bullpen session and shared an injury update on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium, via Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
"Brandon Woodruff threw a 31-pitch bullpen this afternoon at Dodger Stadium. The intent is being ramped up, and facing batters could be next. How's the stuff? 'If you ask me, it's pretty good,'" Hogg reported on X, formerly Twitter.

Woodruff would likely return in a bullpen role. He probably won't have enough time to build up as a starter. The fact that he threw 31 pitches on Tuesday is encouraging. If he can face batters without any issues, being activated for the World Series could be a possibility.
For now, Milwaukee is focused on the series against Los Angeles. The Brewers may hold a series lead, but they know what the Dodgers are capable of. This is an LA ball club that is not going to go away quietly.
Game 3 of the NLCS between the Brewers and Dodgers in Los Angeles is scheduled for 8 PM ET.
