Atalanta's response to Roma's statement regarding Luca Percassi's verbal assault on sporting director D'Amico was swift.

The Nerazzurri club's statement reads as follows: "Atalanta BC firmly rejects the comments made by AS Roma regarding its CEO, Luca Percassi. The Club, deeming it appropriate not to further fuel the issue through public statements, declares its absolute willingness to immediately submit to any necessary discussions with the sporting justice authorities in order to verify the circumstances cited."

The ball is now in the court of sporting justice, but according to various witnesses, Atalanta's CEO repeatedly insulted Roma's sporting director.
