Steelers injury updates: Pittsburgh gets starting WRs back to practice

The Steelers got starting wide receivers DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. back at practice on Tuesday.

· 153 words

The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't seen much of starting wide receivers DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. as both have been dealing with injuries that have sidelined them. But on Tuesday, both returned to practice, which was a welcome site as the team prepares for the start of the regular season.

Pittsburgh traded for Pittman Jr. at the start of the offseason to help bolster what was an anemic passing attack. The Steelers brought in Metcalf the offseason before but almost immediately traded away George Pickens, leaving the Steelers with only one viable option in the passing game. Now, not only do the Steelers have a new scheme that should benefit the passing game, but Metcalf and Pittman join rookie Germie Bernard and should make this offense more balanced and explosive.
