Wisconsin remained at No. 6 in the AVCA coaches poll after defeating Texas A&M and losing to Texas. Here's the rest of the poll.
MADISON – Wisconsin volleyball's 1-1 weekend in the state of Texas did not result in any movement in the rankings.
The Badgers are still at No. 6 in the AVCA coaches poll, which is the same as their ranking in the Sept. 7 poll and the preseason poll .
Kelly Sheffield's team briefly moved up to No. 5 after their 1-3 start before sliding back to its familiar No. 6 spot.
Wisconsin has a 4-4 record, which includes ranked wins against then-No. 7 Louisville, then-No. 17 Florida and then-No. 19 Texas A&M. Those teams are now ranked No. 5, No. 10 and No. 15, respectively. UW's four losses are to teams now ranked No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 7.
Other ranked Big Ten teams include No. 1 Nebraska, No. 9 Penn State, No. 11 Purdue, No. 14 Minnesota, No. 19 USC, No. 21 Indiana and No. 23 Oregon.
UW will conclude its nonconference schedule with home matches against in-state foes Marquette on Sept. 17 and UW-Milwaukee on Sept. 18. Big Ten play will then begin on Sept. 24 against No. 23 Oregon at the UW Field House.
