Colin Simmons signs NIL deal with Dodge Ram Trucks

Texas EDGE rusher Colin Simmons signed an NIL deal with Dodge Ram Trucks, according to a release of a commercial on social media Saturday. Simmons is one of the premier pass rushers in college football.

Simmons was quiet in his first game of the year against Texas State, a 59-7 win. He logged just one tackle, but is due for another monster season in 2026.

Nothing can stop Simmons, nothing can stop football and nothing can stop Ram, according to their tag line. You can see the commercial featuring Simmons below.

In 2025, Simmons had 43 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, two pass deflections, one fumble recovery and three forced fumbles. He has 21 career sacks after logging nine as a freshman in 2024.

As a member of the Class of 2024, Simmons was a five-star-plus recruit out of Duncanville (Texas) High, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking . He was the No. 5 overall prospect in the state, the No. 2 EDGE rusher in the class and the No. 15 overall prospect in the class.

Colin Simmons could be key in Texas-Ohio State matchup

All eyes are on Texas QB Arch Manning and Ohio State's Julian Sayin on Saturday night in Austin. After 14-7 defensive slugfest of a win last year for the Buckeyes, there could be a lot more offense in this year's edition.

That's where Simmons comes in, trying to take advantage of mismatches on the Ohio State offensive line. If he makes the day long for Sayin, perhaps Texas will have a chance to put up big numbers at home in all facts.

"I think, in talking to ( Steve Sarkisian ), they have a much more mature team this year," former coach Nick Saban said this week. "They were a young team last year. The fact that they had six guys drafted was not an indication of how good the personnel was; it was an indication that they had so many young players on the team. I think that team has matured, so they're probably better to be able to go through the gauntlet of what they have to play from a schedule standpoint week in and week out in the SEC.

"I think they have better skill players to make explosive plays. The two big goals were run the ball better, which means play better offensive line. And, also, make more explosive plays. Now that they added Cam Coleman , who might be one of the best receivers in the country, they added the pieces they needed to solve the problems. And the runners they have now are explosive as well."
