Seattle Seahawks place UCLA alum Jake Bobo on season-ending IR

The NFL season is not even under way yet but one former UCLA Bruin is already out for the season with Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo tearing his ACL in a joint practice against the Tennessee Titans last week.

Bobo is fresh off of a Super Bowl victory with the Seahawks but he won't be with the team to defend their title, with Seattle placing the wideout on season-ending injured reserve.

Even when healthy, Bobo wasn't a huge part of the Seahawks' offense. Last season, Bobo caught two passes during the regular season but he did add another two catches, including a touchdown in the playoffs for Seattle.

Seahawks Wire writer Kole Musgrove wrote about Bobo's injury on Sunday.

"Turns out the worst fears were absolutely realized. ESPN's Adam Schefter and Brady Henderson reported on Saturday that Jake Bobo 's leg injury was serious enough to land him on the season-ending Injured Reserve (IR) list. This will sadly end Bobo's title defense campaign before it gets a chance to begin," Musgrove said. "The loss of Bobo will test Seattle's wide receiver depth, as well as their special teams - where they were the best in the NFL last season."

Bobo has played all three seasons, all with the Seahawks, since leaving the college game. Bobo played four seasons with Duke before closing out his NCAA career with one season with the Bruins . In his one season with UCLA , Bobo hauled in 57 receptions for a career-best 817 yards and seven touchdowns.
