Normally I try and lead articles with multiple potential options before I revealed my final choice, but there is a storyline that I am so tired of that I want to get straight into it.

Technically it is a two parter, but the same core concept around QB Demond Williams. Is the team rallied around him after his transfer portal drama and can he take the next step to elevate the team. Most of us have heard these questions repeated ad nauseam at this point all offseason and unfortunately it will likely occur during the season as well.

Did Demond cause tension and drama among the fanbase? Yes. Did he ever lose the locker room afterwards? Not at all. That is backed up by every player on the team who has been asked about it.

Demond is a hard worker by all accounts of his coaches and we have no reason to doubt that he has been locked in. He had a bit of a shaky spring, but he was excellent in fall camp and looks ready to go for a big season ahead.

So who will call into question all of this? Every single member of the media. I predict after every bad series or error that Demond has the narrative will be similar, ""He can't be making these kinds of mistakes if he wants to take his team to the next level." It is so easy to condemn and so hard to create. People will fall back on that storyline as a crutch every time he does anything questionable or has less than an ideal outcome.

The team has moved on from it, so it's time for the fans and media to let it die in the offseason as well. Even though I know they won't.
