OGC Nice are considering a move for Stade Rennais defender Alidu Seidu (26), according to a report from L'Équipe .
Rules in France would permit the recruitment of the Ghana international, despite the closure of the transfer window in France on 1st September. Clubs are allowed to recruit a 'joker', should certain conditions be met. One of those conditions is a severe injury within the current squad. Antoine Mendy suffered an ACL injury during last weekend's draw against Le Mans, which would allow Le Gym to dip into the market.
Seidu is currently on the fringes at Rennes and he has now been made a priority target by Nice. The Côte d'Azur club are currently waiting for their budget to be validated by their owners, INEOS, before making their move for the defender. A loan deal with a buy option could be struck between the two parties, as per L'Équipe. Seidu's deal runs until 2029.
