Vote for the 2026 Polk County preseason high school bowler of the year

Bowling is such an interesting sport when it comes to the best high school player in Polk County.

In several cases, players have been bowling all their lives and have continued the sport into high school. Then there are players who discover the sport later in their development and they are just figuring out that one can go very far in bowling if they put all their attention and sacrifice some regularities to become great in the sport.

It's been a mix in Polk County, yet they have still met at the same point in eventually becoming The Ledger's Bowler of the Year.

In 2025 Kathleen's Mason Griffin ― a player who played a lot of his life ― earned Player of the Year for the second year in a row and late starter in Bartow's Caylee Mitchell was Player of the Year for the first time. Griffin has graduated, while Mitchell will try to duplicate Griffin's success.

These kinds of stark differences will be prevalent for the true contenders of Player of the Year in 2026. And they will either be a part of a good team that makes it to state every year like a George Jenkins or a Lakeland, or they will be so good individually that they will be among the best solo competitors in the state of Florida.
