Liverpool injury concern as star man withdraws from international duty

Liverpool have been handed an injury concern after Alexander Isak withdrew from the Sweden squad with what the club say is a minor problem.

The striker will miss Sweden's remaining three fixtures of the international break and return to Merseyside to be assessed by Liverpool's medical staff at the AXA Training Centre.

Liverpool have not specified the nature of Isak's injury, but have described the issue as minor.

The Reds will now hope the forward is cleared to return quickly, with their Premier League campaign resuming against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday, October 11.
