· 661 words

It was an early evening top 25 showdown for the Huskers and the Hoosiers. Nebraska came out hot in the first set and carried that out into the second. Indiana kept set three much closer before the Huskers pulled away in the end.

Harper Murray led all hitters with 11 kills after having only 1 kill in the first set, she also had one ace, seven digs, and two blocks. Teraya Sigler was right behind her with 10 kills and two blocks. Mania Ogbechie had eight kills and six blocks while hitting .500. Olivia Mach had 10 kills and three service aces.

The Huskers hit a .379 on the night, allowing Indiana to hit .282, higher than what they typically allow.

Coach Dani Busboom Kelly added a new look that we hadn't seen before. She had both Mania Ogbechie and Kenna Cogill playing front row at the same time late in the match to help the Husker block. It definitely paid off.

The Huskers started off the match with a behind the setter kill from Mania Ogbechie, followed by an Andi Jackson kill. Bergan Reilly spread the offense out and the Huskers first five points came from kills from five different hitters. The Huskers got out to an early 8-2 lead. Indiana battled back a few points with an ace and tooling the block. The Huskers led going into the media time out 15-9. Bergan Reilly came out of the time out and threw down two kills. The Huskers were first to 20, however Indiana started to come alive with their block. The Huskers end the set with a big block themselves.

Nebraska hit .375 while holding Indiana to .179. Teraya Sigler led all hitters with 5 kills on the set.

Olivia Mauch served the Huskers first ace of the match putting the Huskers up 2-1. Both teams were picking up a lot off the floor for a long rally with Virginia Adriano seeing a lot of action and finally killing the ball. Laney Choboy got her 20th ace of the season to put the Huskers up 7-2. After a phantom net call on Andi Jackson that was challenged and somehow stood, the Huskers were the first to 15, leading 15-11. This was a set of challenges as both teams challenged a block touch and won their challenges. Harper Murray made some smart shots and gave the Huskers some crucial kills down the line, including a back row bomb to end the set.

The Huskers hit .400 in the second set, but allowed Indiana to hit .333.

Both teams added two blocks in this set making them tied at 4 each.

Indiana starts off the set on 2-0 run. After a few errors, the Huskers even up the score 3-3 with a solid block. The Huskers go on a 5-0 run with Harper Murray behind the service line. Teraya Sigler and Andi Jackson had some monster kills and Murray added another ace. Laney Choboy and Olivia Mauch were digging everything in that run as well. A few Husker errors and Hoosier kills even up the score at 10. An Ogbechie kill ends a 4-0 run for Indiana. Mauch gets two more aces to give the Huskers the lead again 14-13. Once again the Huskers go on a run with Harper Murray behind the service line. There was a rally that had Murray saving the ball while running all the way into the bench, and then coming back to put the point away with a back row crusher. Once again the Huskers were the first to 20. In an interesting wrinkle, DBK puts Kenna Cogill in the front row while keeping Ogbechie in too and they sealed the match with two blocks.

While the Huskers started the set off with quite a few uncharacteristic errors, the rallied and ended set three hitting .357.

The Huskers next game is a Saturday night black out against Wisconsin at Bob Devaney sports center at 6pm.
