Doctor shares details of injury Philadelphia Eagles’ Saquon Barkley suffered vs Tennessee Titans

Philadelphia Eagles Running Back Saquon Barkley went straight to the locker room with 8:10 seconds left in the first quarter, as he appeared to suffer an injury during a play.

This led to instant fear among fans, as Barkley is one of the most important pieces in the Eagles offense.

There was a lot of anticipation to see if he would return to the field, but the team confirmed that his status would be questionable as it was confirmed by them that he was dealing with a stinger.

Doctor Jesse Morse M.D. revealed what this means for Barkley, and stated if he could be seen again in the game against the Tennessee Titans .

"Eagles announced he's dealing with a stinger," tweeted Morse.

"This is an overstretching of one of the nerves coming out of the neck, often, C5 –6. This causes immediate loss of sensation of the upper extremity, leading to the limb immediately going 'limp.' Sometimes pain is involved.

"If this is only one side and he has regained normal function, then he will be able to return. This is the most likely scenario. If this is on both sides (bilateral), then he will be ruled out for the rest of the game and will require a CT and MRI. My suspicion is, he returns with some additional padding around his neck/ shoulder pads. Overall, good news."

Barkley returned from the locker room wearing a Cowboy collar, a molded polyethylene foam neck protection device designed to limit extreme backward head movement.

He currently does not have his helmet on, and the Eagles have brought in Tank Bigsby , who has already scored a touchdown for the team.

The decision to bring Barkley back into the game will be a tough one to make. The team would not want to risk their star RB in this game, but if he shows signs of improvement, they could bring him on later.
