North Kitsap, South Kitsap athletes top reader poll for Sept. 14-19

North Kitsap senior football player Evan Williams and South Kitsap senior volleyball player Savannah Browning are the Kitsap Sun athletes of the week for Sept. 14-19, selected by readers in an online poll .

Athletes are nominated by their respective coaches, and the top vote-getters for both boys and girls are declared the winners. The poll is sponsored by Kevin Krieger's Geico office in Silverdale.

Williams had 13 tackles (4 for loss), a sack and a forced fumble in North Kitsap's 6-3 victory over Bainbridge on Sept. 18.

Browning totaled 24 kills in wins against Rogers and Kentridge, adding 10 aces in the victory over Rogers.

Other nominees were Bainbridge volleyball player Farrah Colby, Central Kitsap football players Wyatt Kolbas and Leo Bosh, and Olympic tennis player Cash Baker.

The next athlete of the week poll will appear online Sept. 30.
