Jeremiyah Love injury: Arizona Cardinals RB misses Wednesday practice
Rookie RB Jeremiyah Love's ankle is still bothering him.
The Arizona Cardinals began their week of practice on Wednesday to get ready for the Los Angeles Rams , and there was one notable absence — rookie running back Jeremiyah Love. Head coach Mike LaFleur, prior to practice, said Love would be held out of practice, as the rookie continues to deal with a lingering ankle injury, the second he has suffered this year.
He wouldn't say whether Love would miss the game on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, opting to say they will take things "one day at a time," noting he and the team "want to get this ankle right and do it the right way."
Love came back from a high ankle sprain from the preseason in a way that LaFleur called "unbelievable," saying that the first injury doesn't bother Love at all. It is the other ankle that has been lingering.
He was not on the field in the open part of practice, and when the first injury report of the week is released, he will be listed as a non-participant.
There has been some discussion about shutting Love down for a bit, perhaps putting him on injured reserve to heal, but that would mean he can't even practice. "We're all in agreeance right now, it's just hey, give it a little bit of rest and see as the week goes on, what that'll entail for Sunday," he said.
The ankle injury limited Love for two days in practice last week before he was a full participant and then had not game designation on the Cardinals' final Week 5 injury report. We will see how things progress this week.
Love rushed for 22 yards on 12 carries on Sunday and has 245 rushing yards and a touchdown on the season, averaging 3.7 yards per attempt.
