How many games can Michigan win the rest of regular season if Tommy Carr is QB1?
Predict how many wins Michigan will have the rest of the regular season if Tommy Carr is the starting quarterback.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Michigan fans and fans across the country.
The 4-2 Michigan Wolverines made a change at quarterback at halftime last week. Tommy Carr relieved Bryce Underwood of his duties and put points on the scoreboard. Carr entered the game versus Penn State with Michigan trailing 3-0, and the Wolverines would go on to win the game 21-18. Carr was 5-of-7 for 47 yards with four carries for 36 yards and a touchdown.
Michigan head coach Kyle Whittingham hasn't said who will be Michigan's starting quarterback this Saturday versus Indiana, but also said there's a "secret" plan in place. Carr looked plenty good enough to warrant a start this weekend, and it seems fairly easy to predict he'll be on the field over Underwood on Saturday.
In this edition of SB Nation Reacts, we're asking how many wins Michigan will have the rest of the season if Carr is QB1. Vote below.
Here's a look at Michigan's six remaining matchups and their chances of winning each game, according to ESPN Analytics.
Oct. 24 vs. No. 6 Indiana: 17.8% chance of winning
Oct. 31 at Rutgers: 80.8% chance of winning
Nov. 7 vs. Michigan State: 77.3% chance of winning
Nov. 14 at Oregon: 18.3% chance of winning
Nov. 21 vs. UCLA: 61.7% chance of winning
Nov. 28 at Ohio State: 8.4% chance of winning
ESPN Analytics give Michigan way too low a chance versus Indiana, Oregon, and Ohio State. Oregon QB Dante Moore has been out for weeks, Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin could be out for the season, and Indiana looks more vulnerable than they did a season ago when they won the national championship. Could Michigan win out and go 10-2? Yes. Could they also lose a few of these? Yes. However, Carr could be the spark Michigan needed to make a run. There seems to be optimism that Michigan can indeed have a strong second half of the season. It'll have to start with a win on Saturday.
