‘They Got After Us’: Aidan Hutchinson Reveals Why Lions Fell Behind Against Bills

Aidan Hutchinson has spoken after the Detroit Lions put up a less-than-impressive performance against the Buffalo Bills in their 2026 Week 2 game in the NFL. The Lions lost 41-31 to the Bills, a defeat that Hutchinson described as unavoidable.

Hutchinson decried his overall teammates' performance while calling out a few situations from the game. However, he ends his comments on a rather hopeful and positive note as the team looks towards the rest of the season.

Hutchison reportedly exposed Josh Allen to create problems outside the pocket. He also bothered him most about Thursday night, which was how much trouble the Detroit Lions had stopping Buffalo's more conventional running game. Sports analyst Brad Galli reported Hutchinson's comments on the game in a recent X post.

"They got after us, for sure. That was not good enough… I know there will be changes. We're not gonna keep banging our heads against the wall."

The Bills rushed for 203 yards on 36 carries, averaging 5.6 yards per attempt. James Cook III contributed 135 yards and a touchdown, while Allen added 69 yards and two rushing scores.

Many expressed concerns about Cook taking on a larger workload agains t the Lions. He finished with 21 carries and averaged 6.4 yards per attempt. Those numbers can help to understand Hutchinson's post-game concerns.

The Lions should always pay special attention to Allen's ability to extend plays. However, Cook's output meant Buffalo was also winning with its regular rushing attack. The Bills eventually finished with 446 total yards and six touchdowns.
