Madison Keys addresses pregnancy rumors started at 2026 US Open
On The Player's Box podcast, Madison Keys addressed the persistent pregnancy rumors circulating about her since her US Open loss to Qinwen Zheng.
Tennis fans were very concerned about Madison Keys after her third round US Open loss to Qinwen Zheng.
Zheng came from behind in dramatic fashion to win the match. An emotional and teary Keys said in her press conference that tennis was not fun. She also admitted changes were necessary.
Some fans thought that meant Keys was pregnant.
On The Player's Box podcast, Keys answered the pregnancy question
Keys, 31, said that she is not pregnant.
She also said if she was, it was no one's business.
Her emotions and demeanor were much better on The Player's Box podcast episode, co-hosted by Keys, Jessica Pegula, Jennifer Brady, and Desirae Krawczyk, that dropped on September 15. Keys had time to digest the tough loss.
Those who did not think she was hinting at pregnancy at that US Open press conference thought she may fire her coach. That could be problematic because she has been coached by her husband of nearly two years, Bjorn Fratangelo since 2023.

Fratangelo was instrumental in implementing a racquet change and serve adjustment after the 2024 season that directly resulted in Keys winning the 2025 Australian Open.
It seems unlikely she would fire her husband. Another alternative may be to add another person to her team to work with Fratangelo. These types of changes would not happen until the conclusion of the 2026 season .
In the meantime, Keys, ranked 23rd in the world, is preparing for the WTA 1000 China Open beginning September 30.
