Sydney Sweeney stirred the sporting world with a controversial ad for Novig. The prediction-market platform's latest featured The Housemaid star in the most illicit way possible. While most of the female athletes across different sports were outraged, Sophie Cunningham certainly had a more mature take on the ad.

In a recent episode of her No Hesitation podcast , featuring Drew Hanlen, the WNBA star questioned, "Why are girls mad?" Defending Sweeney, the WNBA star further said, "That is literally what she does. Why is anyone mad? It is a gambling ad. Men, sports, pretty much naked women. Of course that's going to draw attention."

Cunningham said that it was 'morally weird' for her to agree with the ad. However, she believed that the girls in sports were 'powerful and strong' and they portray what it meant to be an athlete.

"I don't think the ad was coming for women in sport," the Indiana Fever star said and continued her praise for female athletes. Cunningham added, "I think it has been so cool to see girls. They're muscly, their thighs touch, they have broad shoulders, they might be taller than the average girl and probably the average boy."

The Euphoria actress staying in controversy with a controversial ad isn't a new thing. Even American Eagle's jeans ad garnered enough negative remarks across industries. However, it still managed to lift up the sales for the company.

With strategically placed sports equipment to hide nudity, the Euphoria actress kind of slayed in the new Novig ad . Since the release, female athletes have voiced against her not-so-appropriate involvement in sports.

Sophie Cunningham, on the other hand, believes the Novig ad has nothing to do with women in sports. Although she understands why the ad is stirring the pot, the Fever guard supports Sydney Sweeney.

"I can understand when you first see that ad; it kind of deflates women. Because we've worked so hard to get a little bit of respect around here, but then when you really think about it, it's like, screw it! Let that girl [Sweeney] go do her thing."

"We can still say this has nothing to do with us. So, you know, it's nothing like everyone trying to hate on each other and figure out life. So, that's great."

Sweeney's latest Novig ad saw her almost naked with football, basketball, golf clubs, and tennis racquets strategically hiding the nudity. The most controversial part of the ad was the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actress constantly repeating the word "sports."
